When Congress MP Shashi Tharoor who is known for his command over the English Language used ‘farrago’ in his tweet against Republic TV founder Arnab Goswami, Twitter-world found amusement at the choice of his words.
Senior Congress leader Tharoor, a revered orator, slammed Goswami, for sharing the tapes related to Sunanda Pushkar murder case on newly launched news channel Republic TV. Tharoor stated he is angered that someone would exploit a human tragedy for personal gain and TRPs. Former Union Minister challenged Goswami to prove his false claims in a court of law.
Tharoor tweeted in his own style
He tweeted, “Exasperating farrago of distortions, misrepresentations and outright lies being broadcast by an unprincipled showman masquerading as a journalist.”
Tharoor's tweet led to a spate of jokes on the microblogging website.
When Tharoor’s tweet went viral, Congress MP himself was amused with the jokes going around. He wrote, “Glad to have contributed ‘farrago’ to the national conversation. As long as Republic TV continues, we will need it.”
