Virat Kohli is consistently out of form. His team Royal Challengers Bangalore is failing to live up to the expectations of fans in this tournament. Being a captain, Kohli has also not been able to inspire his team to even chase a lowly score of 138. Senior cricketer Sunil Gavaskar lashed out at the RCB skipper for his poor performance in the last few matches.
According to HT report, Sunil Gavaskar said, “First thing he should be doing is look himself in the mirror. The shot he played (against KXIP) wasn’t exactly a great shot. The shot he played at Eden Gardens (against KKR) wasn’t a great shot. The senior cricket legend Gavaskar made these comments in the post-match analysis of the RCB-KXIP match for the official broadcaster.
“He (Kohli) has got to say to himself that he is the captain. He has got to stay there. He is not in form so stay there and he should work himself with proper cricketing shots then widen the scope of the shots,” Gavaskar added.
It is pertinent to mention that in 2016 edition Kohli scored four tons and led his team into the final. He missed the initial matches of this tournament due to a shoulder injury. Despite scoring three half-centuries after coming back, it has not filled the vigour to his team RCB this season.
