We applauded Akshay for taking social cause like toilets, so seriously and making a movie based on it, but what about stalking man? Our country thrives on 2 things one of them is Bollywood and the other is cricket, and we have levied our faith on them since a long time.
Bollywood won’t be Bollywood if the actors don't dance, the hero doesn't throw a few punches and there's no Ishq in the movie, in fact, we are perfectly fine with it but suddenly the stalking part makes it WTF MAN? Why Bollywood always glorifies stalking? And if I am wrong here are some much-loved movies which feature stalking like a pretty normal scene-
Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan starter Badrinath Ki Dulhania is certainly one of the most loved movies for gen next, but have you noticed something fishy there?
We had full faith in Akshay Kumar, but with the launch of his new song "Hans Mat Pagli", from the movie Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which is mostly video footage of Akshay's character harassing Bhumi's character with a mobile phone in his hand to a dreamy tune, we actually felt disappointed.
Hiding behind bushes, he takes shots like a creep. We are totally not cool regarding this.
And just like typical Bollywood, the act soon turns into love affair followed by marriage. If some random dude followed you around and relentlessly took pictures of your face, would you fall in love with him? Because Bhumi goes on to marry him later on in the film, so clearly Pyaar Toh Ho Gaya. Will Bollywood never learn?
I guess these proofs are enough.
Films that sings praises of harassment term them simply as 'wooing' the woman, but it’s high time Bollywood realizes it.
Alright, it's time for me to go for a stroll. We hope Bollywood brings us great work in the future. Till then let’s swallow the shit being offered. Peace.
