A day after 25 CRPF personnel were killed in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, people on social media questioned the role of central government for failing to contain the situation and respect the lives of soldiers. This was not the first attack on CRPF in this state, earlier there have been several attacks by Maoists in recent past in which the number of security personnel were killed. However, the central government has come under scanner from social media users after the news spread.
Here’s what facebook users replied after the attack
“25 Jawans dead, for no fault of theirs! That's not a joke or is it for the government!? Only if these 25 Jawans were their kids or brothers they would have desperately sought a resolution with the rebels. I think we take security forces for granted and that is a shame!,” Inam Pangin wrote on Facebook.
Nuvaid Muhammad another Facebook user questioned the double standard being adopted when a soldier gets killed in Kashmir only.
“Not seen a lot of people share this and grieve for our Jawans. The same people made a hue and cry when a soldier was slapped in Kashmir but remain silent now. Why such double standards? Is Kashmir the only place where our soldiers die? Maoists have claimed more lives of our soldiers. Yet only Kashmir remains the focus. Time to rethink??,”
Jatin Mehta, a social media user stated this was the terrorist attack like Uri in which 18 army men were killed in the state of Jammu and Kashmir last year.
“What was their fault? Wait I know...they were trying to protect our citizens from our citizens. If Uri was a terrorist attack, this is too. What kind of people we are if we are fighting with each other over nothing (power). What's the difference between a country like ours and Syria? Killing them won't solve the problem but killing their supply will. We should not be proud of our soldiers, we should be pained for their families. Condolences to their families. RIP our brave soldiers.”
Why is government busy with something else?
Another Facebook user Wahid Zia said, “Very sad......Terrorists are killing our Jawans brutally, but the government is busy in protecting animals and Gau-Rakshaks. In order to fight the terrorists, the Government should send all the Gau-Rakshaks to the terrorist affected areas,”
What is the government doing?
“25 Jawans dead, for no fault of theirs! That's not a joke or is it for the government!? Only if these 25 Jawans were their kids or brothers they would have desperately sought a resolution with the rebels. I think we take security forces for granted and that is a shame!,” Inam Pangin wrote on Facebook.
Where is your nationalism?
“After demonetisation I was made to believe that Maoist, Kashmir stone pelting problem is done and dusted but both have improved their strike rate...u need to ask valid questions even to those whom u admire!!! If ur nationalism is restricted to a party or individual, then something is wrong with u.... RIP and salute to martyrdom, said Saif Ahmad.
Have all the government's failed?
“This is Tragic!! Earlier congress and now BJP failed to control the situation!! Something more and different needs to be done!! This shows politics has failed us!!,” stated Dheeraj Gupta
Anup Kumar Dash paid tribute to all the soldiers, “26 army men died due to Maoists attack on CRPF team. Great loss to our country but their sacrifice and dedication to our country will never forget Jay Hind.”
