Chris Gayle became the first batsmen in history to reach the landmark of 10,000 Twenty20 runs.The West Indies batsman achieved the feat when he smashed 77 off 38 balls for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Gujarat Lions in the current edition of Indian Premier League. His overall score in T20 now has 10,074 runs, much ahead of Brendon McCullum with (7596). Australian Brad Hodge has 7338 runs while David Warner comes at fourth with 7156 runs.

The 37-year-old Gayle holds the record for highest score in T20s. He slammed 175* off just 66 balls against Pune Warriors India in IPL 2013.
Chris Gayle has scored 18 centuries in T20 career. No other batsman has even hit more than 10 centuries; the second highest Brendon McCullum has only hit 7 tons in T20 cricket.
Gayle hit a century in mere 30 balls still holds the record of fastest hundred in T20 cricket.

Gayle hit 117 against South Africa in the inaugural edition of T20 world cup in 2007, became the first batsman to score first hundred in world T20.
Jamaican hard-hitter has also hit 769 fours. The second highest Brendon McCullum (726), David Warner (718), and Bradd Hodge (707) are the only four players to have hit 700 fours.
