Royal Challenger Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli and Coach Daniel Vettori lambasted about their team’s dismal performance in the current edition of Indian Premier League. The team lost their fourth match in the tournament against Rising Pune Supergiant. RCB failed to chase a target of 162 to win, as the team lost by 27 runs.
Virat Kohli reminds team about the responsibility
A disappointed RCB skipper Virat Kohli reacted strongly and reminded his team that they have a responsibility towards the franchise and the fans. "Last year, we had to win four out of four to qualify but that can't happen every time. As professional cricketers, you're playing for a franchise, you are playing in front of a lot of people, we can't keep doing this. Hopefully, we can turn things around and the players can take the responsibility,” Kohli was quoting as having said by PTI.
Kohli said they have to find 'winning formula'
Royal Challengers Bangalore has lost four out of their five games in the tenth edition of IPL. Virat Kohli, who is also the skipper of Indian cricket team in all formats at the post-match ceremony said, “If we play like this, we don't deserve to win. The last game, we fought hard. Today we let the game go away right in front of our eyes. We have a few things to address. We can't think we can sweep sides away at home.”
Be more proactive, says Daniel Vettori
Coach Daniel Vettori acknowledged that his side needs to be more proactive in the remaining games of the IPL. "The thing is, in the IPL we're constantly searching for the right balance," ESPNcricinfo quoted Vettori as saying in the post-match press conference. "Trying to catch that up in the back end on a slow wicket is incredibly difficult. I think in a lot of ways we need to be more proactive," he further added.
