Heavy rainfall on last evening has brought a huge respite to Delhities from scorching heat. On Monday, the maximum temperature recorded 29-degree Celsius- 11 notches below the season's average. It was the coolest day of this season and also the lowest in six years in May.
According to Metrological Department (MeT), there is a possibility of thunderstorm with rain on Tuesday as well. The maximum temperature on Tuesday will be around 37°C while the minimum is expected to stay at 23°C.
On Sunday, rains and thundershower along with strong surface winds occurred in several parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). Photographer Nasir Kachroo turned their lens to capture some shots of downpour in Old Delhi and its adjoining areas. The sudden change in the weather threw traffic out of gear in some parts due to water logging, however, a lot many people were enjoying the downpour as well.
