1. Phobia of Children
A high- school teacher sued her own school district over the phobia of children. Maria Waltherr-Willard, with over 35 years of experience filed a lawsuit against her school district. She claimed that the district discriminated against her disability of phobia of children. Yes, the school teacher had a phobia of children. Hard to believe! She filed a lawsuit when the district reassigned her from high school kids to middle school kids, stating that she experienced intense fear and anxiety around young children. This forced her to resign from teaching and file the suit.
2. Sued himself and wanted the state to pay
Robert Brock was a Virginia state prisoner and had decided that he wanted to be moved from a prison to a mental institution. In order to make it happen, he claimed that he had violated his own morals and religious beliefs by allowing himself to get drunk and commit crimes. He sued himself for $5 million but, he also said the state should pay since he didn’t have an income. Obviously the case was thrown out!
3. Sue Hospital for letting rape happen
Edward Brewer sued Providence Hospital in 2002, after raping a patient. The man had put the allegation on the hospital that they had failed to keep him from doing so and hence, should be punished for the same.
4. Sue for an Insult
In 2006, Allen Heckard sued Michael Jordan and Nike founder Phil Knight for $416 million for looking like him. He claimed to suffer defamation, permanent injury, and emotional pain and suffering because people often mistook him as the basketball star, Jordan. He had to suffer a lot of pain time and again. Heckard thankfully dropped the lawsuit later that year.
5. Want the control over the Universe
This is the best reason, that a man can file a lawsuit to get quick money. This man from Quebec, Canada filed a case to gain control over the universe. He was particularly asking for the control over all the planets, Jupiter’s moons, the Earth, and the space in between. The judge threw the case and banned the Canadian citizen from filing anymore lawsuits in future without a written consent from a judge.
6. Thief Sued a Family
A thief named, Terrence Dickson of Pennsylvania sued a family after getting stuck in their garage during a robbery. He was trying to exit the house, after the robbery and as a result of which got stuck in the garage. He lived of Pepsi and Dog food for nearly 8 Days and then successfully sued the family for over half a million dollars.
